Then Cabela’s came out with a storage system similar to Flambeaus, but it was bigger, better quality and allowed me to store even more gear. Soon after that, G. Loomis produced a line of multi-box tackle storage systems, and the boxes could be interchanged in a shoulder bag or backpack; they’d taken things to the next level. The timing for the release of the G. Loomis bags and boxes was perfect, as I was now traveling a great deal throughout Alaska and around the West.
I loved the sturdy boxes that G. Loomis offered, but found myself breaking many of the tight-fitting, plastic latches, which resulted in gear being spilled on more than one occasion. After dealing with this frustration, it was time to shop for a new tackle storage option.
